Bungie has delivered an experience that, down to the last bullet, is truly satisfying.

Long story short, Destiny 2 - Forsaken delivers the ultimate Destiny experience. Its few QoL and balance flaws won't stop you from enjoying a couple of gorgeous and well-crafted new areas, as well as a dark, immersive story and a game-changing new raid. Probably your best chance to come back and stick around for months, maybe years.

By far the best expansion Bungie has released to date.

Forsaken continues Destiny’s great tradition of taking a lackluster opening salvo and beefing it up with content that makes the game feel complete. Were it not for the superhuman light level climb in front of me, I would have absolutely no issue recommending this the same way I recommended The Taken King. If there was a version of original Destiny you had to play, that was it, just as Forsaken is the definite version of Destiny 2 - as long as you’re willing to make that climb.

Even though the campaign is short, the story is thrilling and prepares the players for some interesting upcoming events. Thanks to two new areas, a new raid, and the brand new Gambit mode, Destiny 2 earns a better handled expansion.

Destiny 2 Forsaken is a whole new game, a whole lot of game, but it’s also the exact same game. It's "fun" – Destiny always was – but it's a loop of endlessly increasing numbers and loot and numbers and loot and more numbers and not enough numbers and I just don't know why I'm doing it anymore.

Forsaken is what the game needed. There's so much stuff to do, every day I have a reason to log-in. If you liked Destiny (1), you'll love Forsaken.

It's an amazing expansion and it breaks me to see that 90% of the negative reviews are from people who want to hate on Activision or haven't even played the campaign yet. The Narrative is unlike anything we have previously seen on destiny, the feel of the came is crisp (the new weapon system and TTK changes make sure of that), and for the first time in destiny history, there is a pvp-PvE mode. Just because Bungie made massive screw-ups (the curse of the disappointment and a less disappointing Warmind) we need to remember that they orchestrated one of the greatest franchise of video game history Halo. Let's not forget that they also made The Taken King, which it is seen and Destiny 1's savior. What I am trying to say is that Bungie is capable of creating an iconic and Forsaken is nothing short of a masterpiece. Oh, and for those oblivious who say that the expansion is overpriced and that you have to pay 150$ if you haven't got the expansions, there is a bundle that you can buy for sixty bucks that include Destiny 2, Curse of Osiris, Warmind, and Forsaken. In my opinion, that IS worth the sixty dollars. Take a look at the taken king. It was also 40$ and only included 16-18 GB of content. Forsaken is ALSO 40$ and it has 47 GB OF CONTENT. That is almost enough to make Forsaken a stand-alone game. Therefore, be happy that you got a full game worth's of story, content, lore, equipment, and exotics for just 60 bucks. Expand

People pay $60 for a 20-30hrs experience with spider-man but complain about $40 for what can be 100's of hrs.

Now to review the game. Bungie demonstrated, with Forsaken, what a good quality game should be. It IS sad that they stumble their way to this but the problems of the past have been captured in their respective reviews. This is about forsaken and they did a great job. They brought a Lot of content for PvP and PvE. The same excellent gun play with a lot more content to try it on.

The Dreaming City is very polished. The secrets, the quests, the story are all great. I think that the best comment I can say about Forsaken is that --It is so much better and interesting than what we had so far that it will be hard for non forsaken owners to imagine what Bungie was able to achieve--

Pros : It adds an entirely new location that feels really different from the already pre-existing ones; The new Combat Bow is satisfying; The Gambit mode is really fun and can get PVE players to get into PVP and vice versa,
Cons : It's quite overpriced; Bungie killed the only intresting character in the Destiny universe (Cayde-6) but of course they had to do it for the plot

Forsaken: It's a step in the right direction. I've currently completed the Last Wish raid, reset my Gambit rank, and absorbed all the new content as of 10/2018. Random perks on gear make you chase for best roll versions of your favorite items. The campaign is much better and more interesting than all previous Destiny 2 content. What plagues Destiny 2: Forsaken is that we have seen deeper, more compelling iterations of its game systems in other looter titles like Diablo and Warframe.
Additionally, all gear prior to Forsaken is now worthless, having been arbitrarily excluded from the new loot tables. As a result, you end up with endless copies of the same items (Edge Transit). You're also sent back to previous zones for bounties that end up being dull gameplay because every last bit of loot you get from those zones isn't subject to the new item structure. It's a very half-baked affair.

    Suggestions:
    - expanded loot tables
    - all items redeemable via collections at an appropriate cost
    - augmented perk/traits for armor/weapons
    - expanded mod stats
    - the reduced drop rate for exotics is excellent, but you need drop protection from duplicates
    - bounties need more compelling rewards, see previous suggestions
    - either put in a transmogrification system for gear or update previous gear to the new loot table.
